The land where SHPG and the Pisa Conservation Area are now, used to be government owned and leased to the farmer. A land transfer was agreed to which privatized the land where SHPG is now, and allowed to Government to remove stock from the higher land and resulted in the creation of the Conservation Area. To guarantee access to the Conservation Area, an easement for a carpark and foot, bike or horse access was agreed to.
